There’s something so cheerful about a colorful fruit tray, especially when it’s shaped into something festive.
I started making this Easter Egg Fruit Tray when I wanted a centerpiece that felt fun and playful but still fresh and healthy.

The bright layers of grapes, strawberries, mandarins, and kiwi create a beautiful “decorated egg” look that instantly brightens the table.
It’s one of those simple ideas that always gets people smiling before they even take their first bite.
How To Make This Easter Egg Fruit Tray
Ingredients You’ll Need For This Recipe
- ½–¾ pound red grapes
- ¼–½ pound green grapes
- ¼–½ pound blue grapes
- 6–8 mandarins
- ½–¾ pound fresh strawberries
- 4 ounces canned pineapple pieces
- 3–4 green kiwis
Step-by-Step Guide
- Wash all the fruit thoroughly and allow it to dry on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels. This step helps keep the tray neat and prevents excess moisture from pooling.
2. Line a large serving tray with parchment paper. This makes cleanup easier and helps keep the fruit in place while you arrange it.
3. Peel the mandarins and separate them into individual segments.
4. Drain the canned pineapple pieces thoroughly so they don’t release excess juice onto the tray.
5. Cut thin slices from both ends of the kiwis, peel them if desired, then cut them into 2–3 thick slices. Dice the slices into small cubes.
6. Remove the stems from the strawberries and cut them into quarters.
7. Remove all grapes from their stems and set them aside in separate bowls by color.
8. Arrange the red grapes on the tray to form a large egg outline.
9. Place two horizontal lines of strawberry pieces across the egg — one around the middle and another near the bottom.
10. Fill the space between the bottom strawberry line and the bottom of the egg with mandarin segments.
11. Using green grapes, form the shape of the letter “M” between the two strawberry lines.
12. Fill the spaces around the green grapes with blue grapes.
13. Arrange pineapple pieces along the curve at the top of the egg.
14. Place the diced kiwi pieces in a vertical pile through the center of the open space at the top of the egg.
15. Fill any remaining gaps with mandarin segments to complete the decorative pattern.
16. Cover the tray with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Important Recipe Notes
- I used a large baking or serving tray measuring about 17.5 × 12.5 inches, and the fruit egg filled most of the surface.
- Feel free to design your own decorative pattern. I started with strawberry stripes and built the design around them using different fruit colors.
- The fruit quantities listed are approximate. Depending on the size of your tray and how high you pile the fruit, you may need a little more or less.
- Grapes tend to be larger, so they create height quickly. Smaller fruits like mandarin segments, pineapple chunks, and strawberries may require more pieces to reach the same height. It helps to add fruit gradually so the tray looks evenly filled.
- When covered well and stored in the refrigerator or a cool place, the tray will stay fresh for about 3–4 hours before serving.
