How To Make This Fluffy Green-Themed Cheesecake Dessert Dip
Ingredients You’ll Need For This Recipe
For the dip:
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 6 ounces light cream cheese, softened
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- A few drops of green food coloring
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips (plus more for topping)
For serving:
- Graham crackers
- Vanilla biscuits
- Fresh fruit
Step-by-Step Guide
1. In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream and granulated sugar.
2. Stir for a few minutes to dissolve the sugar, then whip the cream into stiff peaks using a hand mixer.
The whipped cream should have a firm texture and hold its shape without falling flat when you lift the beaters.
3. In a separate medium-sized bowl, add the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, Greek yogurt, and vanilla extract.
4. Whisk until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed to get everything mixed together well.
5. Begin adding green food coloring, a few drops at a time, mixing well until it blends into the dip.
Continue adding more until you reach your desired shade of green.
6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, whisking until smooth and fully incorporated.
7. The cream will dilute the dip a bit, so if you’d like a deeper green, add another drop or two of food coloring until you get the shade you want.
8. Fold in the chocolate chips and mix until they’re fully incorporated.
9. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, so the dip can firm up and develop that classic cheesecake consistency.
10. When it’s time to serve, sprinkle some more chocolate chips on top for garnish.
11. Serve with graham crackers, vanilla biscuits, and/or fresh fruit.

Important Recipe Notes
- When using liquid food coloring, about 3–4 drops will give you a soft pastel green. If you use gel-based food coloring as I did, you’ll need a lot more to achieve the same hue. Start by adding a few drops at first, then mix and assess – keep adding a few drops at a time, until you get the shade you like.
- My recipe uses light cream cheese because I prefer my dips lighter, and I find that I get a fluffier texture like this. However, even though this dip firms up beautifully in the fridge, it will start to soften and lose its cheesecake-like texture faster than dips made with full-fat cream cheese. If you prefer a thicker, denser dip, use regular cream cheese instead.
- The dip tastes best when served with plain crackers or fruit that won’t overpower the flavors of the cheesecake.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- No baking required! The dip comes together in just 10 minutes, and there’s almost no work involved. Just mix and chill!
- The light, fluffy texture is honestly irresistible – this is the base recipe for all of my dessert dips.
- With its festive green colors, it’s perfect for color-themed parties, holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and Christmas, or everyday spring gatherings.
- It’s a very versatile dip, and you can easily customize it with different toppings or mix-ins. Or you can just skip the food coloring and enjoy the dip as it is!
- The dip only needs 30 minutes to set, which means the whole thing comes together in less than an hour!
